Inspirations....
The procrastination is starting to move away.... having sales always seems to help this (wink).
So today we needed to head to town (about 30 miles) and do some 'costco' shopping and then we stopped at Borders. B. and I both use bookstores for inspiration. We sat for awhile with our respective pile o'books.
I thoroughly enjoyed looking at:
1. Style Deficit Disorder by Tiffany Godoy
2. Fashion Now put out by Taschen
3. New York Look Book - A Gallery of Street Fashion by LaRocca & Chessum
There were also some sketches in Digital Art Masters, Vol. 2 that got the juices flowing.
We then drove down the coast and wended our way back home. All in All a very good day :)

The Art of Procrastination
The Art of Procrastination
SO...............
the holiday rush is over
i've got dozens of ideas, for dozens of things running helter skelter through my brain.
i have yarns hanging, i've got yarns in bins, i've got yarns on the table, the floor, in baskets and boxes. i've got certain yarns pulled to go with certain rovings ... i've got certain fabrics pulled to go with certain yarns, i've got swatches and pieces, and hanks and balls and scraps.....
i pulled out the sewing machine, i pulled out the leather scraps, i grabbed some felted pieces, i took my mannequin heads and turned them to face me, i've walked into my studio, i've walked out of my studio
i just came back from a fast paced walk around the neighborhood, up the hills, down the hills, i've sat on the couch and knitted on my very own sweater/jacket, but only in increments of 2 rows here, 2 rows there.... i've picked it up, put it down
i've checked my blog a dozen or so times
i've played solitaire a few times
i fixed my speakers, i did my sales tax report, i paid the bills, i cut up meat for a stew and started it in the crock pot.......
SO...............
the Art of Procrastination is doing fine and well since 6:00a.m. this morning...
I have accomplished nothing, I am antsy and I need to create.
I seem handle the Art of Procrastination the same way I handle my Art of Creating. Moving from one thing to another, pacing, sorting, mulling, pushing, savoring.... the only difference is that I have nothing to show for my Art of Procrastination.
.lauren the great.: Holy Yarnage!
cracked me up.......... especially because she was talking about me!
"......but this chic had to have been first in line when God handed out the balls of yarn. Or yarn balls. Whichever.".....

"Won't You Be My Pay Pal?"...ala Mr Rogers..
It seems there are always questions regarding where to send an item if the address a buyer has requested you use is different than their Paypal listed address.
Here are My Rules of Paypal:
1. I do not send to an address that is not listed on Paypal (if the buyer has paid thru Paypal)without first doing the following:
A. Sending my email and convo to the buyer thanking them for their purchase and fast payment and letting them know that there is a discrepancy between their Paypal mailing address and their Etsy mailing address. I ask them to please confirm which address they want me to send to and to please make sure that they change their Paypal address to correspond to it, otherwise neither of us (Buyer or Seller) will be covered under the Paypal Protection Plans.
B. If they write back and tell me they have changed their Paypal address, 9 times out of 10 it will not be reflected when I go look. Maybe Paypal has a loose circuit that doesn't seem to link the newly re-done address over to their "already purchased/paid for" items. I dunno :(
C. I then notify the Buyer that the address doesn't show as any different and ask them to please, again, confirm where they want their item mailed to. I also let them know that if it is different than the Paypal address, I will need their confirmation, in writing, that they will not hold me responsible if their item does not reach them, (and since it is one-of-a-kind, I can not replace it).
Usually at this point, the buyer reiterates that they have changed their Paypal address and to please just go ahead and send the item and they will take full responsibility....
at which point...
I immediately, clear out any money in my Paypal account (shift it on over to my bank account), and ship the item adding in insurance (out of my own pocket) on any items over $20.
It makes me feel better.... knowing I have sent their item with Priority Mail, Delivery Confirmation, fully insured and a note from them advising they wont hold me responsible.....
